OUR STORY

Established in 1990, the Hüsnü M.Özyeğin Foundation is a private foundation dedicated to promoting the social and economic development of Turkey by supporting initiatives in the fields of education, girls empowerment, health and culture.

The Foundation started its activities by providing scholarships to students who need financial support with high academic success, and has provided scholarships to 23,863 students to date. The Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation continues to stand by the past and the future, with the construction of schools and secondary school girls’ dormitories in the field of education, rehabilitation centers in the field of health, restoration works for the protection of cultural heritage and a total of 65 donations. To date, 23 girls’ dormitories, 1 university dormitory, 21 primary schools, 8 high schools and 3 rehabilitation centers have been built and donated. Approximately 25,000 students benefit from schools and dormitories every year. After the Marmara earthquake, 4 primary schools in Istanbul were strengthened and 4,000 computers were donated to the schools.

PROJECTS

Child Wellness Center

The Child Wellness Center, of which we are the project sponsor, is an initiative launched to provide holistic care and rehabilitation services to children who lost their limbs in the 2023 Maraş earthquake in the short term and to establish a center of excellence in pediatric orthopedic rehabilitation within Çukurova University in the long term.

We are Strengthening Together Project

The foundation has been actively running the "Strengthening Together" Project for 4 years to meet the competence and psychosocial needs of young women residing in Hüsnü Özyeğin Foundation Girls' Dormitories, within the scope of the KOZA Young Women Empowerment Program of the Association for an Equal Future. So far, the project has reached approximately 400 students from 13 dormitories

Suna's Daughters School-Focused Solution Community

Founded in 2021 by İpek Kıraç, Suna'nın Kızları (Suna's Daughters) aims to contribute to the creation of supportive and safe learning spaces for children. It works together with 33 non-governmental organizations within the framework of common goals and indicators, taking into account the unique needs of girls; and supports programs that facilitate access to existing services and empower all children.

Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation, as part of Suna's Daughters School-Focused Solution Community, is conducting studies to develop models that will support girls in schools to realize their potential and remove the obstacles in their way.
