Founded in 1990 by Hüsnü M. Özyeğin, the Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation invests in the areas of culture, education and health in order to contribute to Turkey’s social, cultural and economic development. In order to eliminate disparities in access to education, the Foundation has constructed 50 schools and girls dormitories to date. The Foundation has also provided about 10,000 scholarships to university students from disadvantaged backgrounds who show outstanding academic potential.

The Foundation also invests in the construction of community and healthcare centers in regions where needed, and under post-disaster circumstances, in the area of cultural heritage conservation, and more recently in rural development projects. Özyeğin University, founded by Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation as a contribution to higher education and investing in human capital in Turkey, has started its first academic year in 15 September 2008.

egitim The Foundation builds schools in order to increase access to education, and girls dormitories in regions where the ration of girls’ schooling is the lowest. The Foundation also awards scholarships to students with high academic achievements in need of monetary support.
