İzmit Rehabilitation Center (İREM)

The Rehabilitation Center built in İzmit jointly by the Ministry of Health, Project Hope and the Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation in the aftermath of the 1999 Marmara Earthquake was run by the Mother Child Education Foundation for a period of two years. Specialists with Project Hope personally came to the Center to carry out their work. After these two years the Center was handed over to Kocaeli University, and services provided include Orthotics-Prosthetics, Job Development, and Swallowing and Speech therapy. There is also a Children’s Rehabilitation Center situated within the complex. The Center covers an enclosed area measuring 1,500 m² (16,145 ft²).

 

Oya Bahadır Yüksel Special Education School and Special Education Services Center - 2007


The Special Education School and Center was built in a village in the Gaziantep province in Southeastern Turkey, in order to rehabilitate substance addicted children and to provide them with vocational education. The Center includes a study and work hall, workshops, swimming pool, sauna, computer room, administrative unit, cafeteria, conference hall, amphi-theatre and additional spaces required for special education services. It has a capacity of 120 beds and covers an enclosed area of 2,649 m² (28,512 ft²).

 

Kızılay Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Rehabilitation Center Facilities - 2008


The center is being built in the Rize province of northern Turkey, with a capacity to serve 300 disabled people daily, in an enclosed area of 5,300 m² (57,046 ft²).
